The Challenge
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, OT input in my service has been delivered via video or telephone consultation, significantly changing how we work. I have had to use this to work on developing a child's motor and process skills and emotional regulation
The Change
The child I'm working with has ASD, ADHD and DCD. They have struggled to engage in video sessions previously. They enjoy playing with playdough and Lego, so I made playdough with the child via video call and used this and Lego pieces to play games.
The Impact
The child was motivated to attend and was able to engage in a whole video session for the first time and engaged in activities, which will support the development of their motor and process skills and emotional regulation techniques
